After all hard work prepping the boat for the season, it was nice to finally have her back in the water. Gripmarine had again taken great care of her, making sure everything was ready for when we arrived at the boat on Friday evening. We decided to stay put for the night, and stock up in the morning on what needed stocking up, before heading back to our home base.

Woke up at 6:30 on Saturday morning to a wonderful sunrise. Had a stroll with the camera and enjoyed the stillness of the morning.

The place is very pretty and well maintained.

We then headed out to sea for a two hour cruise back to Helsinki. The sea was totally flat.

The beautiful day turned into a beautiful evening. Temps around +15 despite the cold sea, and absolutely no wind gave an early feel of summer.

Back in our home berth

I had followed the odd looking forecast for the Saturday evening since Friday, but it remained unchanged.

By 11 pm I thought they had completely dropped the ball as it was dead calm in the marina still. Then, suddenly a very light breath of wind appeared to break the water’s mirror like surface. An hour later the boat was bouncing and it was gusting F7.

Sunday was more typical spring weather: sunny, windy and horribly chilly.

Gotta love this forum. You woke up so early and took such beautiful pictures for our pleasure, what else we could ask?
Your eye for catching such magic environment is always fantastic K, those pics bring back great memories indeed! :encouragement:

Excellent as always, K!

We're on our first full (bank hol) weekend this weekend - hopefully we'll see some sunshine!

Beautiful pictures, nice to start the season in such good weather! I also had my boat at Gripmarine, they give excellent service indeed. I left the Gripmarine dock one day before you arrived. I saw Aida moored and prepared for the season shiny and clean, she looks like new!

You have a natural eye- great photography. Puts plenty of ‘professionals‘ to shame.
Unless of course you are a professional photographer :)
