Just brought the first aid kit home from the boat to replace the items with best before dates on etc.... Flicking through the kit that was supplied with the boat, there does not seem to be too much in there.

Can anyone recommend a list of contents that a yacht should carry for an offshore passage with a duration of 24 hours.

TIA

If you do a search through the forum, you should find a very informative list of posts on just this subject.

I certainly found it very useful.

If you look at this list from <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.sailgb.com/sshop/prod_info.asp?Product=Code-of-Practice-Cat-C-Commercial-First-Aid-Kits&PID=1008>http://www.sailgb.com/sshop/prod_info.asp?Product=Code-of-Practice-Cat-C-Commercial-First-Aid-Kits&PID=1008</A>, you will see the first aid pack I had to supply when my boat was used for bare-boat charter work. It gives the full Cat.C list of items required.

This is the kit that I will be buying for my new boat (non-charter) for this coming summer. MED0105 Cat C (as above) Boxed, SailGB Price £62.86 inc. VAT from SailGB. I got my last charter Cat.C pack from a company in (I think) Hull.

I have had a search for the directive, but am unable to locate reference to it. That will also give the full list.

If you are carrying the kit for your own security and not to meet any requirement then I think you can use your own imagination. You will need to be able to treat burns, cuts, seasickness, pain in any form stomach upsets perhaps imobilise a brocken limb Your local pharmacy should be able to advise. Regards will
