First Aid Kit

What are Jesters putting in their First Aid Kits?

Tony.

Tony, this is a copy of an earlier post. A few Jesters seem to think it is "over the top" my theory is that it all goes in a small box, SO, why not take it all if you have time to collect it

QUOTE:

My wife and I made a list of things that I may of needed, I also made a private appointment with my doctor for his advise. He also had to give me a prescription for anti biotic which I paid for privately at the chemist. (Which, strangely enough was cheaper than the prescription charge).
My wife is digging out the list now. Remember, these are the things that I took on the JAC08, not saying it is a comprehensive list. Everything was placed in a hinged tupper ware box with a list of the contents in the lid.

It would be good if other jester added things we may of left out.

The things I used were:
Re-hydration salts., Mainly for my son on the sail back, he was “ILL” for 13 days
antiseptic cream and elastoplasts. Mainsheet car smashed into my hand (Salty’s fault, hadn’t locked it off).

1 good plastic box with sealable lid (so not to be stuffed to the brim)
Inventory on lid
First aid book
Good sharp scissors (For first aid box only)
Triangular bandage (sling)
Crepe bandages (assorted sizes)
Melolin (assorted sizes)
Self adhesive dressings (assorted sizes)
Bactigras (antibiotic wound dressing) fantastic thing
Micropore tape
Elastoplasts (fabric, not waterproof)
Steri strips (butterfly stitches)
Penicillin (Amoxicillin)
Paracetamol
Ibuprofen
Anti histamine tablets and cream
Burns cream
Cold and flu remedy (day nurse, lemsips)
DYORALITE (Re-hydration satches)
Imodium or similar
Eye bath
Eye pad bandage
Sea sick tablets
salt tablets (Made Salty sick, tee hee)
Needle(s) and thread

Most things can be bought at chemists and Asda.
REMEMBER , if you take medication on a regular basic, dont forget to take enough.

I also took the "The Ship Captains medical Guide" 22 edition. in case I needed to deliver a baby.

Hope this helps
