Fireworks

I have had a request to take Excalibur somewhere where we can view fireworks on the 05/11. Cardiff would be most sensible - are there any decent displays on arround the bay anywhere?

CYC has a display every year. Not the biggest but normally very spectacular and you can watch from the balcony with a pint in your hand.

That might work, is there a visitor pontoon?

Yes and it's free! If you head over into the entrance of the Taff past the CYC trot moorings and turn towards the club. The visitor moorings are down between the first pontoon from the bridge and the second one. Although there is no charge it is nice if you can spend something in the bar.

Fear not, my usual problem is spending too much behind the bar!

At our prices it is very difficult to spend too much!

Portishead Cruising Club will have fireworks on 5 Nov immediately after the Winter 2 race. Morpheous, you won't spend so much on diesel as going to Cardiff so you can spend more in the bar. However as PCC prices are even lower than CYC you may find the need to buy at least a couple of rounds for everyone (mines a pint of Doom Bar).

Sadly the tide doesn't look to good for PCC on the 5th, unless you want to do the display in the afternoon. Shame cos the Doom bar is very tempting
