hi .
as the topic suggests, will the fireball rudder and stock n tiller fit my lark?

i guess though i might need to change one or two of the gudgeons n pintles perhaps

Lark rudders are fairly deep and the transom is low.
On mine the distance between bearing surfaces on the gudgeons is 195mm. You can probably adjust the centres on the stock but that's about the max you can get.
Might work, but a Lark one would be better.

There is no "lark" rudder, well not specified by the class rules at any rate. As with alot of the fittings on the boat, it is your free choice of what rudder you want.

You need a long, straight blade and the fireball one has been much used in the class in the past, known to be especially stiff.

the pintles and gudgeons may not fit exactly but they can be altered with some oingenuity, a spare hour and if like me a couple of cups of coffee.

out of curiosity, have you been to the lark class website?

http://www.larkclass.org/

lots of info to be had there.

hi .thanks for all your replies.

i saw the lark site but not quite sure which direction to go on it.

so i put in a few searches under rudder, lark and fireball but there was tons of links to sort through.
or did you mean i should look more in a specific area on the site?

Hi, the blade will be no problem, I donated one of my old FB blades to a lark sailer. However, if you have an old JB Lark (Barker) or a MkI Parker, you'll need a stock with a removalbe tiller, so that it passes though the hole in the transom. Fireball stocks normally have a fixed tiller, riveted on if it's alloy, because the stock and tiller just drop down over the transom.
Regards
Nick.

hi nick.
yer its the JB Lark (Barker) lark i have so i guess the stock wont fit because of the tiller..
shame that..
