The RNLI Sea Safety bunch have long advised *privately* that the cheapest sea-capable fire extinguishers are available not from chandlers, but from Argos. Lidl seems also worth a query.

Seems they're made to the same CE standards....

The rating is a bit low. For small commercial vessels (SCVs) less than 15m in length a minimum of multi purpose extinguishers totalling 13A/113B PLUS one 5A/34B at each exit from below are required.

Screwfix also do Fire ex's, identical to the ones for sale in chandlers, for about half the price!

Had a survey last winter, needed to replace them, cannot remember the grade but B&Q sold the recommended ones for about £12.
Oh and how many have a fire blanket in the gally?
Keeps the insurance co happy.
