A friend is interested in a 1978 model of this boat at around £20k. It would be his first yacht, and the price is attractive.

What I can find says it is a good round the cans racer and fast cruiser.

Its a new name to me, does anyone have any experience or comments?

Thanks in advance.

I think I looked at one years ago - pure racer with pipecots, canvas zipped bulkheads, 3 cookers for feeding the grinders ( and I thought they usually ate raw meat) Flush deck with very effective prism lighting, tiller steering. I was looking to furnish it as a cruising liveaboard, but suspected it would be a bit of a handful for the soup-dragon and me. I seem to remember it just being a big empty cave inside.

Thanks for that.

Sounds a bit extreme; it has Harken 48 winches which could be a clue!

IOR 3/4 tonner in its day but quite a docile cruiser racer by todays standards. big genoa and small mainsail will make tacking a bit of a work out, hence the big harken winches, but at the right price, not a bad boat. The nicely balanced hull shape will make it more forgiving than many modern boats and I believe they were strongly built.

Mate has one in Greece we sailed it down to Med a few years ago from Scottish borders, good strongly built boat, no problem in a blow and quite fast. A little dark down below, he took out pipecots and fitted it out himself.
