\"Finished with engines\"...
Not quite boatless, but now only got an Avon Typhoon taking up space in the garage.
A few thoughts on what I have loved and loathed about being a boat owner.
Loved - freedom, fun, getting hands dirty doing real "hands on work", and the genuine helpfulness and friendlyness of most boat owners.
Loathed - Big motor boats with Blue Ensigns.
4 times this year I have been nearly swamped rowing across the north channel in Poole to my mooring - one B*****d even popped below to bring his friends up on deck for a better view before speeding up and turning towards me so I got the full beauty of his wash! And he was flying his "vessel not under intelligent command" blue rag.
Many thanks to the very considerate young jetski rider who witnessed this and came and gave me a very welcome tow back to the yard.
Next time I see the stinkpot in question, he gets a kilo of sugar down his fuel intake. (Or maybe I will have calmed down by then)
