OK! OK! I'm lazy as I have only just got around to doing the licence application form and sending off my payment but why should they have my hard won pennies before when is strictly necessary.

That is not what I am writing about. I would have thought by now the E.A. would have made it easier for all concerned by allowing us to do all this on line especially the payment. So much more convenient.

Race ya Byron mine it all ready to go off first thing tomorrow. What do you say first to get it owes the other one a drink?

Cheers
Matt

Nope! My address is in Oxfordshire but my postal address is in Berkshire, this plays havoc with my mail sometimes.

The good ship PHERAN is out of the water until 3 April so I assume I don't need to bother to pay 'till then!

Nope but you still pay the same and it could get delayed as everyone else that was on hardstanding will be doing the same.Just my $0.02.

Cheers
Matt

That's probably more than 4% gross p.a.
May one ask where you get that rate in today's Market?

Calculated at 3% net on a (typical) £500 licence fee deferred for 3 months. I still have cash on deposit in accounts* paying more than 4% gross which I opened 2 or more years ago when it became obvious that interest rates were going to go through the floor. Opportunities for up to 4.75% gross (and more) are still available (see popular money comparison sites for details) but it means tying up larger amounts for a longer fixed periods, something I'm not altogether comfortable with for the immediate to medium term future. Au contraire, an eternal optimist, I reckon cautious investment in equities is increasingly the way to go.

* I fess up to being a total rate tart and am prepared to chase even fractional percentage points. Pays for the boating.........!!

PS I did request no begging letters Tone !!

Me too Chris. I must have a dozen different empty internet accounts where the bonus rate is over. I even managed to grab the NatWest one that they only ran for 3 weeks offering 2.85% for a year. The other interest rate whore is Mike Haley (Flyaway) he juggles for just a quid a year more.

Its reassuring to know I'm in such illustrious company Byron. One additional benefit of my money-shuffling activities is that its taught me something about handling spreadsheets on the puter. I would be totally lost without them and wouldn't know what was where :)
