Finally yesterday I had a very good day sail. It was sunny, the sea state was slight, the breeze was ideal with a steady 12kts true, strong enough to get to the 8.5kts hull speed on a close reach and without those gusts that would normally force me to reef my heavy number one Genoa.
I would have expected from my boat a significant loss of performance 17 months after launch, the last three months spent at the berth without much use and with signs of green beards around the bow waterline, but the latter were almost all gone after my return to the berth. I do not know how the hull looks like under the waterline, but I was pleased enough with the performance to believe that the jaycar ultrasonic antifouling might be working.
