I normally get SWMBO to put all the running rigging in a pillow case and put it all in the washing machine.

This of course causes the washing machine to vibrate badly. Hmmm - clean ropes though.

I made HWMOM(he who must obey me) wash and dry our running rigging in his machines-he didn't remove any of the metal end bits(technical language) and his tumble dryer drum is pitted like the surface of the moon! Now if only he'd listened more carefully to my instructions and let them dry naturally.

My Wife put some old Sisal ropes in the Washing Machine with some Fabric Conditioner.

They went all floppy & useless.
