You really would think that a yard lifting a large, famous, valuable, boat would, at the very least, have their lifting gear in order. And I would not be hasty in assuming that a wooden boat that has been dropped, even back into the water, is undamaged. Transferred damage is common. (Don't ask me how I know this...)

I would have thought Health and Safety and their insurance company would be onto the yard like a ton of hot bricks.

They were very, very lucky - obviously the equipment was simply not checked - or used inappropriately.

Not a very good advertisement.

+1, I'd be looking for very good surveyors and probably lawyers, even if she dropped ( how far ? ) into deep water I'd be worried about caulking and the rig...

Fortunately, a real tragedy averted.
She sails up here from time to time and is a stunning sight. A real joy to behold.

Quite apart from the naming and blaming etc., I hope the old girl is entirely undamaged.
