FG delaminated on mahogany rudder.

Hi,
My 30 year old rudder needs a repair. Most of the glass is still well adhered. Should I reglass the area or use a quality epoxy to fill the area and fair it back?

Grind back the delaminated bits (being careful not to bite into the timber), feather the edges and laminate glass cloth with epoxy to blend into the sound parts.

I bet it is pretty soggy under the glass.

It needs time to dry out a bit before you redo the glass.

I would use epoxy but I think poly would do in this case.

Thanks for the replies. The wood is totally dry as the seal was luckily not compromised.
