The RYA mag dropped through the letterbox the other day, dont normally rush to read it, its normally full of raggie type things. Low and behold, an event for us motorboaters. "The Queens Golden Jubilee Festival" its called, to be held from 31 may too 4 june. Nothing about enrolling or registering. so is it just turn up and take part or what.

Sounds a bloody good idea!! Bags section leader. Nah you dummy, its "full of a weekends fun" so it says here. Treasure hunts, poker runs and the like. Thought all this would need a bit of organization, puttting names down and things officious. Nothing on their web site, but then what is there when it comes to motorboating.

Open to all motorboats big and small so says the blurb, so whos up for a jaunt anround the most crowded bit of water in the south!!!

I'm pretty sure this is the annual "Festival of Power", in disguise.

Look at MBM events list.

Has been going for several years and believe well liked by those who have gone. It certainly does require booking and usually fills up early on. Mix of social, shoreside and waterborne, treasure hunts/ poker runs, boathandling competitions, RIBs and cruisers, etc.

Re: Chicken run

Umm, Paulineb = Female, Used too= young which in turn = Girl, Clacton beech = Essex, could that mean.....nah cant be.

Poker run. er you dash about finding things and places from clues, when you get ther you get given a playing card. do this until you get required number of cards for poker hand. highest hand = winner. quiet pointless really but good fun

Re: Chicken run

Maybe not, but I am - I am actually Tracey from Chigwell - but I don't have a sister called Sharon, nor do I own (or have ever owned) a pair of white stilettos. I am rather partial to a kebab though ;o)
