All have been lifted that need to be it seems and on their way to Blackpool in Rescue 122 as we speak.
LP has just asked Riverdance if they intend to ground her. Not an easy choice in this weather I would not have thought. Ch0 is quiet, but I do not have dual watch on my h/h so have to flick manually. Scanner is on the boat (damn!)
Not a nice night for the passengers I am sure, must have been petrifying for many being lifted into the helo from a listing heaving deck.
There would only have been a couple of passengers as a rule, most would be crew. I’ve sailed on this ferry several times, great little company and always helpful crew
Lorries were the cargoe - vehicles parked on upper deck were going overboard and others falling onto lorries parked on ramp. Ref rescued lorry driver. 9 crew still on vessel; list reduced to about 20 degrees; vessel now aground - ref ferry management spokesman.
I wonder if she is likely to break up, though she will be on sand, still not an ideal night to go aground. The wind is howling past my window here and I am inland.
