Ferry in trouble in Irish Sea

Listening now, though can only hear Liverpool CG.

All have been lifted that need to be it seems and on their way to Blackpool in Rescue 122 as we speak.

LP has just asked Riverdance if they intend to ground her. Not an easy choice in this weather I would not have thought. Ch0 is quiet, but I do not have dual watch on my h/h so have to flick manually. Scanner is on the boat (damn!)

Not a nice night for the passengers I am sure, must have been petrifying for many being lifted into the helo from a listing heaving deck.

There would only have been a couple of passengers as a rule, most would be crew. I’ve sailed on this ferry several times, great little company and always helpful crew

Looking at the AIS there appears to be an offshore tug heading toward the Riverdance.

LP has just asked fleetwood LB if 177 is currently winching, so maybe they are starting to take the crew off.

LP has just released the Steersman from the mayday, so they must feel the situation under control.

Must stop, on mobo the bod who did this got into trouble for releasing VHF info, I don't want to be naughty /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

rescue 177 is on it's way to Blackpool now.

rescue 122 is the RAF sea king from valley, I have not come across 177 before.

with me ears mate! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have it on my creaky old h/h, stems back to my rnli days.

Lorries were the cargoe - vehicles parked on upper deck were going overboard and others falling onto lorries parked on ramp. Ref rescued lorry driver. 9 crew still on vessel; list reduced to about 20 degrees; vessel now aground - ref ferry management spokesman.

Clywd supporter (offshore tug) now called off.

I wonder if she is likely to break up, though she will be on sand, still not an ideal night to go aground. The wind is howling past my window here and I am inland.

Most Radio's have got channel 0 .. Just that they are PROGRAMMED not to let it be used .. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
