I wonder how long it took for the harbour master to come round for the mooring fee. Last time I was there the anchor hadn't hit the bottom before he was alongside with his ticket machine.

Nah - the ferry is another machine for taking money off tourists. It gets privileged treatment.
Local gossip is that it sank a moored boat or two.
