Had a lovely sail at the weekend, but moored up against a boat on saturday night with a rubber strip round it painted red. my lovely white fenders are now RED . Any ideas of how i can get the red marks off ?

I have tried the usual Cif, Ajax, white spirit, Bleech even oxalic, but it is still there.

Any help would be great, before I deposite the red on my hull or even someone elses.

Cheers

might be worth trying some 'acetone' or 'cellulose thinners' i dont know if if will effect the rubber fender but it should be ok if you wash them off with water afterwards.

Was the paint oil based gloss or cellulose or a stain? You may need another solvent but some may melt the fenders! Try paint stripper but have some water handy and do a tiny test patch first.

Had the same problem a couple of years ago, the acetone (nail varnish remover) it did the trick, and I gave them a good scrub with Flash afterwards to clean the rest of the fender and get rid of the acetone.
Hope this helps.
P.S. It was't me my hull's blue
