Why dont we all tie out fenders to the pontoon and leave then there? rather than cart them around?

I dont need them if I drop the hook, dont need them if I pick up a bouy, dont need them underway, only when alongside.

just seems a better idea.

That's what we do. Three fenders permanently attached to our finger pontoon. We still carry eight or nine for all the other pontoons though, plus all the locks, rafting up, waiting berths, fuelling, etc.

I thought that you were in Hellevoetsluis. Last time I was there, the berths had a sort of aircraft carrier arrester wire system which obviated the need for fenders.
It seemed to work well once you got the hang of it.

Re: Just a fort!

hhm, rafting is a problem, have not got a solution to that one yet, but when visiting annuva marina then there will be fenders there already cos they will have been left by the occupant of the berth see?

Heliushaven

When we first enquired at all three clubs in Heliushaven, six years ago, we were told there was a three year waiting list. We put our names down just in case but we have never been called. I met one person who found that locals are on a different list, much shorter. He bought a house in the town, obtained his berth in due course, then sold the house again.
