I've just realised, were back down to four fenders. Yes it's three and one spare. But why do the new ones disapear first. How come, I still had a Princess one up to last week. Must be 22 years old. Why is it always the middle fender that go. It's never the bow or the stern ones. New fenders dont seem to last five minutes., yet old ones last till totally manky.

We buy about two or three each year. Even chased after boats that have nicked them. Always passenger type craft. Mostly we lost one and turned back, only to find it had been rescude by some one else.

So how do fenders disapear, newest first then old ones. Mostly never old ones.

It must be my fault, I started with 4 and now have 7, they are so manky no one would steal one.

Funnily enough one of them is a Princess one, I found it bobbing about on it own.

I havent lost a fender over board since we started to use a clip instead of knots.

The clips go round the rail and clip back on the fender line, thats set for 'low pontoon'

there is a second smaller plastic clip half way up the fender rope for 'high coming along side'

saves loads of hassle.

Disappearing fenders are one of life's conumdrums; like where do flies go in the winter, where do all the young ladies in short skirts also go in the winter ( but I think they are solar powered). Anyway, back to fenders. Please don't be a sad wotsit and have the name of your boat printed on them... urrghh
