Saw a nice looking S23 leaving Swansea Marina last week - was that you? Can't remember which day, but there was a lock closure , so you would have had to hold in the lock for a while.

How far do you go in your S23?

stick with your s25

i have a 2005 sealine s25 great boat
you can handle it on your own if need be
had 33 knots out of it

cheap to run i recently came out of burton waters marina in lincoln into the trent up the humber stayed at hull the night
and then from hull to boston marina is a heavy following sea

only used £100 of fuel for the complete journey of 165 miles
on a good sea condition i can do it for about £80

same journey in the beneateau 9.8
would possably cost double the fuel thats if you can get under all the bridges
then your mooring fees go up
servicing doubles

and the weather we have had this year is stoping us getting the full use of the boat
so why spend the extra how much more fun can you have

Not a bad journey at all for that size of boat. Where else do you manage to get to?

I also agree, smallish boat with one engine has got to be the cheapest way to get out on the water.

Hi- yes it could have been our S23 at swansea- we were there for a week and then called in again for fuel thurs before last.

As for comments about cost of ownership and our weather, one of the reasons we liked the Beneteau was that I feel I could use it much more in our weather, with the wheelhouse arrangement. The S23 is great in good weather but not fun in the rain.

Finally, one of the reasons we chose the current boat was so that we could tow it- we have had several great hols on the Broads in hire boats and think it would be great to take our own there again one day
