picked up brand new cold plate for a waeco at Beauleiu Jumble yesterday for £10 - ideal I thought, was thinking about building a fridge in, these things RRP about £70. Shortly after, found the appropriate compressor, brand spanking new for £125. Ideal!

anyone else get any spectacular bargains?!

i thought i had the same situation a few years ago when i bought a nice boxed compresor, all the caps in place.
Bought a nice new plate from penguin and fitted the lot only to find that the compressor had no gas...

Managed to get it vacumed out and refilled and touch wood its fine.

hmmm, the compressor came from shamrock chandlery and the (seemingly knowledgeable) chap said it didn't need charging (I did make a point of asking). even getting a charging kit it'd be cheap as chips tho.
