Where ever it is (and I haven't a clue) I'd love to sail there one day. I would guess its on the eastern side of the North Sea .. but I wouldn't even lay money on that.
Jeff - it's Loch Scavaig, nestling under the the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye. Nice anchorage, well sheltered but occasionally prone to sudden and violent squalls due to the mountains.
If you're into climbing or hillwalking, the anchorage is a great base for this magnificent area. Weather can be "unsettled" though, even by Scottish standards.
The jetty is used for day-trip visitors, but the numbers of people are so few in such a vast empty area that they never become intrusive. Apart from the wildlife, the only noise is normally the tinkle of the waterfalls into the loch.
Fresh water available from the burn, no "facilities".
