Fed up with kettles

I don't know where we got the kettle from but it looks good, has a flip back whistle and has been working well for about 4 years. I don't think it was sold as a 'boat' kettle but it has the wide bottom for quicker heating. I will check next time I am on the boat what the make is as I would recommend it.

Yes, we have one of those, came with the boat when we bought the boat 9 yrs ago and still going well. Don't think there is a makers name on it.

..used it just yesterday and confirm whistle was whistling... but it's only a few years old so can't comment on longevity

There's so much wrong with this post.

For a start B flat is the key for ironing not boiling water.

That's why I changed it!!

My Shropshire-born grandmother, who taught me to iron, always, even with a thermostatically controlled electric kettle, used to spit on the shoe to check it was the correct temperature.
