The other half is going to butlins today with the daughter and I have managed to get a week on the boat. So what happens? Looks like we are about to get the wettest week so far. I was hoping they would get it wrong, but after studying every sat picture and weather station I can find looks like I will be stuck in the house. Looks like a week of telly and takeaways, I suppose it will be safer!!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The vast majority of climate change studies predict windier, wetter weather, in what we know as the temperate zone, as average temperatures rise, so 'bringing on' global warming will not give UK sailors Carribean-type conditions.

It will also mean all moorings and marinas will have to be shifted inland as sea levels rise, unless you want a 5 mile row out to fetch your boat from its offshore deep water mooring.

Just get out your storm jib and oilies and have fun!!!

[/ QUOTE ] Indeed. We had a most exhilarating sail to Inchcolm on Saturday morning in a very brisk wind and pissing rain, fantastic fun.
