Hey guys
Do you think that i will have a prob if i fit out using nothing but Stainless (A2) steel.
fed up with trying to remove old brass screws that have corroded etc. Apart from the copper roves the galvanic corrosion will be kept at a min, is that right??
Any advice as usual is appreciated.

Domestic brass screws are a complete waste of time in a wooden boat. As you say they corrode and become brittle. The best material to use is silicon bronze; buy in bulk from Anglia Stainless at reasonable prices. Stainless is OK for interior fixings but A4 is generally recommended rather than A2.

Stainless steel is fine for assembling interior furnishings. It can also be used through planking into frames, but only above the waterline, as it will corrode in an oxygenless marine environment below the waterline, where silicone bronze , copper or galavinsed steel should be used. Never make the mistake of coupling stainless and galavanised steel above or below the waterline - e.g. st. stl screws through planking into galavanised strap floors - as this will start electrolysis that will slowly eat away at your planking, turning it black and soft around the offending fastenings.
