Quiet summer morning in paradise.

A couple more photos that I like.

Approaching St Alban Head at sunset 20 June 2017. It had been a long day as I started in Brighton and entered Weymouth after dark.

Beating towards the Isles of Scilly 24 June 2017 at about 8pm. 25 knots over the deck and the photo does not show the Atlantic rollers, but the storm cloud hid the sun to allow the light to catch the water. Finally entered Port Cressa at 11.50 pm, breaking the two cardinal rules for entering the Isles of Scilly - do not go in rough weather and do not enter in the dark, ooops I also did it singlehanded.

Where was that last pic taken as I was sailing back from the IoS that day and might have passed you? The weather did turn a bit grotty on the 24th and for some reason the sea was a little disturbed with a swell from the South. That must have been a long beat as IIRC the wind was almost due west?

Your pic captures the moment well!

It was a long beat as I had left Falmouth and decided off Mousehole at 1.30 that it was only another 30 miles. It was a tough beat as I also had the tide against me. It would have been slightly north of the Isles of Scilly and about equal distance to Lands End. The trip from the Medway to Isles of Scilly took me 6 days singlehanded, with one day off in Falmouth as I felt too tired.

I did pass one boat with a 2 coloured blue and lime green cruising chute and no main, which I took some photos of (PM with your email for copies). There were a couple of other boats with white sails also heading back to the mainland. So the answer is you probably did see me as there were no other boats I saw traveling towards the Isles of Scilly.
