For me it was the Malo 40. I found the HR rather ordinary if not plain and lacking the expected quality finish. Although the Najad's new "Docklands Appartment" interior was refreshing, it didn't seem to have a harmony with the more traditional parts of the fit-out.

The Ovni 435 did it for me.

It looked and felt solid, fit and finish was spot on and it look like it's just the thing I'm looking for when I take my year away from the rat run with the family.

I'm looking forward to a factory visit and test sail.

That wooden traditional sailer that chap had built and moored on the pontoon, and was hoping to sell it at the show.

Really cute boat, I hope he sold it.

Having a 32 footer at present I thought the Elan 38ft seemd well thought out, well built and reasonably priced. A little different from the usual designs.

For me it was the C&C115 - looked amazing. Essentially cruising biased, but with carbon hull and rig. Made in the US so not as expensive as I'd have thought, given the weak dollar. Dutch owner was on board - great guy, clearly in love with his new purchase.

I also loved the Hunter Mystery 35. Looked like it would survive anything. Lovely and wonderfully made.

Down at the more realistic end of the market I thought the Hanse yachts were the best of the budget manufacturers. Nicely finished, and hull shaped to suggest that sailing performance a consideration as much as caravan space below.

I don't suppose anyone will be supprised to hear that I had my tongue hanging out over the new ETAP 46DS.

I can only assume the rest of you did'nt see it!

I am very seriously tempted by the Huzar 30, a Polish built boat. If anyone has anything nasty to say about it, they'd better do so before I go and order one ...

If I'd had the money............

You can often get an old rowing dinghy like that for about 200 quid or so, thats not expensive. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Did you really like it? I had been looking forward to seeing it IRL for some time, I must say we were "underwhelemed". It had a certain unreal feel to out - more a floating caravan than a yacht. And deck stepped mast and in mast furling too! The only feature I really liked was the Marinedeck 2000 cork. Looked cool. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yeh I was impressed.

Last year Jan Verhaege told us that they loose sales of larger boats, peeps wanting to buy around the 46ft size, I believe part of the market research was carried out on those people. I found it refreshing that it was not designed as just a variation on a regular theme that so many yachts follow. But thats ETAP.

It would be ideal for anyone with the money moving up from a big mobo. That sort of style.

Would I aspire to own one? Probably not, but I could'nt say why.

It has got to be that qorgeous GRP copy of the original design for the FOLKBOAT.
It was tucked away against a fence and just oozed charm. No room inside - but great for a sailor. Those underwater lines really are "classic".
