The long cherished hope of doing something about the dock at the end of the creek seems to be slowly taking shape.
The basin above the old lock gates could provide capacity for visitors to the wonderful old town of Faversham, parts of which rival any of the so called historic towns which dot around our coast.
Problem has always been getting a mooring at journies end.The creek is a bit of a challenge for those unfamiliar with the area and to chance not having somewhere is very off putting. My preferred stop is Town Wharf but nobody seems to know what is going on regards reserving a space .

Similarly the Dartford & Crayford creeks seem to being cleaned up & the lock looked at. Both the Faversham & Dartford/Crayford trusts have got good FB pages showing progress.

Gravesend probably operates system similar to the one that Faversham will have to use ie. using only one gate but seems to be surviving quite well.
Access perhaps would need be a hour or so either side of high water but as the basin is spring fed the levels should be kept constant ?

Gravesend only has one pair lock gates. The other set was apparently blown off during the war and they have been saving ever since for a new pair..
