Hi i have a vitrifrigo c42L fridge with a Danfoss bd35F compressor fitted. The compressor seems to have stopped working, when the fridge is turned on the fan runs but the compressor fails to start, when the fridge is then turned off the fan keeps going until the battery is disconnected.
I have found some info online which details how to test the compressor by bypassing the thermostat and running a diagnostic test which results in 5 beeps on the voltmeter which indicates thermal cut-out of the electric control unit due to overload. Can anybody help with how to fix it, do I need a new ecu?
Don't know if it's relevant but the fan runs continuously throughout the diagnostic test is this normal, it seems to suggest to me that the system thinks that it is too hot? The outside temperature is about 12° so that's not the reason.
