Fason lost

It has just been reported on the Jester Yahoo forum that Alexei has lost Fason on his approach to St Petersburg. Evidently both he and Igor in 'The Grand' were caught in a full gale in the Gulf of Finland. The Grand came out ok but Fason struck a rock in the approaches. Alexei was saved and managed to save a few possessions but Fason was a complete loss. Unfortunately details are a little sketchy.

I sat next to Alexei in the bowels of Black Velvet the night before the start of JAC08 and a lovelier bloke with a greater story you would truly struggle to meet, and a real inspiration to us all. It is great news that Alexei is safe and I am sure we are all pleased for that, however I am sure he is in pieces over the loss of Fasson. Coming to terms with the loss of something you have created yourself and had so many adventures with must be a truly awful experience.
