Faryman diesel in Fischer Panda Genset - valves

It’s a 2016 FP genset that has been difficult to start. The unit is out as I have other work to do on it and so I have the head off as part of investigating what I suspect is low compression. The valve clearances have wandered a bit by which I mean they lose there correct clearance really quickly.
The exhaust valve is sitting higher in the head when closed. It’s not flush like the inlet valve.
Is this normal? I’d suspect not. I did research on here and found a few reports of corroded exhaust valves leading to poor compression.
Any thoughts on this? I’m going to see if I can attach a photo. The valve in the foreground is the inlet valve, the smaller (it is indeed smaller not just further away ?) is the exhaust valve. It is 2.1mm below the head surface.

The seat has lost its hardness and needs replacing. An engine repair company can do this repair. I would replace both valves too.

That is completely wrong! The exhaust valve should be nearly flush, see drawing of head below.
hard to see what is wrong, I suggest you pull out the valve, it looks like either the seat has expanded or the valve has worn. I suggest you take the head to a local engine repair company and see if they can fit a replacement seat and valve.
I needed a new seat on my head as it had distorted badly. I used a company near Milton Keynes, let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks chaps. Since posting I have other tales and pictures showing exactly the same issue. Good news is that as you both suggest it’s def fixable. Just need to find the right workshop and tech. I’m in Fiji so the small back street engine and machine shops are even smaller and more backstreet. However, I’m confident the skills will be here, somewhere.
