Coastal boating = not straying very fasr from port. Sea boating = going across channel, or 100 miles down coast. Different boat. Different safety equipment?

Re: Not sure

If the list gets too long we will spend all our time searching for the right question and then the right answer, and the board could die.
We need to keep it very simple to start off with and build it slowly.
Dont get too technical for the non technical otherwise they will quickly lose interest.

A quick intro then links to the sits required.
1.0. could link to the RYA list of marinas or the marinas web sits,
1.1, link to inland waterways sit,
1.2 Canal links
1,3 Major ports. with good coastal access
1.4 ports with faciliteys for long distance voyageing and repair faciliteys.

2.0 what boats can do what then 2.1 2.2 2.3 can go into more detail with boat types as per manufactures descriptions,

So we will need the links / web sites , only use the ones that this site likes or have found usefull and use the KISS PRINCIPLE.

Sounding far too complex and complicated. The idea is a simple FAQ of buying and keeping a boat, the sort of thing that gets asked here frequently. If we get into links to externals and details on specific boats, you are basically designing a whole website, then the links and boat details need to be updated.

Sub heading for Maintaining, checks, on board spares etc, they always seem to get overlooked........someone laughed at me for having a spare coil!

Point taken,Was just idea,/forums/images/icons/smile.gif Keep it simple stupid. [KISS] Best way to do most things, got carried away,
Can explain 24/7 access
What means by tidal locked things like that, I remember being confussed by things like that when first starting boating.
