Famous last words

I think you'll find that Nelson's last words were "thank God I have done my duty". The "Kiss me Hardy" bit was about half an hour before, after which he stated that he should have stayed on deck (to continue to direct the battle)and made his bequest that Emma Hamilton and his daughter should be properly looked after by the country (cos he was broke when he died).

Thank you, ma'am, and welcome to "the forum". It's good to have a pedant on board, to keep us on our toes. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I must confess to having been lazy and simply googling "last words", or something like that, and copying one of the offerings. I will try to do better in future and, like a good journalist [surely an oxymoron?], check my facts before I write my piece.

"I've got this really bad itch between my shoulder blades, and just can't reach it. Could somebody scratch it for me?" - Julius Caesar.

When the Master and Commander decided "No need to take the dinghy, there's a water taxi service", it almost ended with a similar result!
