Having owned Pegasus for a few months now we wanted to do a trailer trip in this country before heading to the South of France in September.
So we puttrailer boat and car together for the first time and headed west from Poole

The A35 Poole to Honiton is not a trailer freindly route as it is narrow in places with some very steep hills.
I thought the hill just west of Charmouth had done us in as the engine management light came on and the car engine cut out!
Should have read the manual first, heavy towing in a Grand Cherokee should be done in gear position '3' rather than 'D'. Made a huge difference and we had no more trouble once this was sussed. We still came back via Yeovil...a much freindlier route.
Anyway, we got to Premier's Falmouth Marina

and were soon settled in our berth.

From there we were able to vist the local area on a day trip basis.
First trip saw us pass Black Rock where we checked on the seals.

and then on through the Mannacles to Coverack

before returning up the coast via the Helford River where we took a visitors bouy and had a few beers at the Ferryboat Inn before heading back out of the River

and back towards Falmouth

and up past the town

and past what is according to locals, Johnny Depps House
Nice spot, who's ever it is.

Back to our berth

Other trips we did were up the River Fal towards Truro

And across to St Mawes where again there were visitors buoys from which you could dinghy ashore

We also checked out the top of the channel past where we were staying up to Penryn

A couple of interesting vessels that caught our eye.
Dont know much about this one other than it is some kind of jack up vessel

This one we learnt from Google is the yacht Aquila that had been in Falmouth for quite a while for a refit, even though it is less than 10 years old.
Changed hands in 2014 for about £100m and is owned by the family that own Walmart

On our last evening we visited the Pandora Inn just inside Restronguet Creek where we were able to moor alongside their jetty

It was a good week, the weather was kind enough by Cornish standards and we were able to get out everyday.
I thank those that shared information on this forum in a thread I started a couple of weeks ago that gave is a steer on where to go.
We are now back in Poole till September then it is off to the French Med!!!!
Hope you enjoyed this post....
