As the owner of a Falmouth Bass Boat(and only just discovered that's what it is!)
I am impressed with it's lines and performance, and wonder if there is a massive difference between it and the Drascombe Lugger, apart from the offset outboard well, and the slight loa. Mine is 17'6". How do they compare in performance, and are they still being manufactured? Are many other owners out there? TonyG.

I'm not a Drascombe (or for that matter any) Lugger fan and never seen or sailed a Falmouth bass boat..

I however did used to sail a Devon Yawl extensively (been round Start Point) out of Salcombe which was a really terrrific day boat based on a traditional design .. they used to take the fish off the smacks back to the fish docks..

I rate a lot of the modern takes on trad boats (there are some wonderful ones in the Orkneys (Westrays) and also all down the West Coast.. really sea worthy and fast too.
