Falmouth area - parking for 1 car

I often park in the streets close to the Greenbank and the RYCY without problem so far. One of the sidestreets, maybe the steep hill going up from the Greenbank, would be preferable to the front where the householders have no garages and one could conceivably get fed up with having his little bit of frontage blocked by an itinerant sailor.

You are more likely to have a problem with seagull sh1t on the paint of your car.

P.S. Why is it relevant that its an evoque?

When we did a course with Trysail last year we parked on Wodehouse Terrace for a week, as recommended by them.
Loads of free parking but I had to cruise about a little bit to find a space.
It's pretty much as it looks on Google maps when you drop the little man in to look round.

  • If you have a posh house you'd not want someone parking any lesser model on your drive would you.
  • Its not but its an opportunity for the OP to tell the forum waht a swanky motor he has

Or maybe the OP wants to give an idea of the size of car they're seeking a space for. Radical thought I know, but maybe.....

It's only 13cm longer than a Ford Focus. Vic has it right.

The road along the sea front past the Greenbank and the RCYC is free parking, obviously left at your own risk but I don't think anyone else who parks there have many problems.

I live there. In 15 years with 2 or 3 cars in family at times, have had two broken car windows, three instances of drunks stepping onto car roofs (the pavement is raised to car roof level), all on Fri/Sat nights as inebriated yoofs head home from the town bars. Neighbours have had similar problems. Our cars damaged have ranged from a newish Volvo to elderly Mondeo, Yaris and Primera.

It is OK, it is an Evoque, its already been stood on.

Can anybody offer me free (or relatively cheap) parking for one car (Range Rover Evoque) for 2 to 3 weeks in May? We are due to resume our UK circumnavigation early in May and need somewhere safe to leave our car for a short while.

Presumably as you are resuming a circumnavigation the car is to get you to your resuming point. I bought my current boat from St Mawes and found the easiest way to go and collect it was to hire a car from Europcar in Kent and drop it off at their branch in Falmouth Marina. It cost more as a one way hire, but a lot easier than going back to collect the car. We needed a car as we had far too much gear to take by public transport.
