Ahoy Shipmates,

So who will admit to going for an involuntary swim ??

I must admit, my most recent dip, (certainly not the first, and probably not the last), was earlier this year whilst getting into the dinghy. This time I was sober, (well, 1 x Gin & Tonic- with Gin on down roll, & Tonic on up roll). Managed to also take for a swim, my camera, and my new mobile phone which can take piccies, well not any more, both now defunct.

Own up, and get it off your chest!!!!

P.S love the site.

Anyone that hasn't fallen in at least once cannot consider themselves truly seasoned sailors. Why, as a sprog my father used to throw me overboard regularly, I like to think he really wanted to ensure I became a sailor too.

No Simon, just bored and have too much time on my hands. Went to the office and sorted their PCs out, came home in play with PC mode.

Hmm, Yup, been there twice over last few years. First one on a finger pontoon, slid off pontoon (beer rating medium) between 2 moored cruisers, slipped down in mud, couldn't jump up to reach gunwhale of either to pull up. Scared the s**t out of me!

Second go, putting outboard on tender (which was tied to the stern of a friends cruiser) on strong ebb on River Crouch, painter on tender went taught; I did neat sumersault - could not swin fast enough against tide; friend on board didn't hear my "Ooooiii!" shouts with engine running - again, a worrying time. Nearly made it a hat-trick last weekend due to dew on deck & me deciding to clean windscreen ; live and learn as they say.
