Evening, it's looking like next boat will be a Targa 30 and I have found the best example around with almost all wish list ticked:

Bowthruster
Teak
New covers
Dinghy
Outboard

Good history, hours, great condition etc.

It has very little in way of electronics though, with only the standard 2000 tri-data and VHF. There is a Standard Horizon GPS unit fitted above the cabin door, far too far away. I would like to fit some new equipment but the dash does not have the space. Other Targa's I've seen had large screen plotters either where tri-data and compass sit, or above where the 'chart table' is. In this instance the chart area is reduced by half and a wedge shape moulding is in place to hold a good sized plotter.

My query is whether these differing mouldings were factory or have been after market installed?

Does anyone know?

Apologies for the dull post!

Adam

p.s. anyone know anywhere really cheap I can store boat till new season: Southampton to Weymouth considered?

There was an alternative factory dash that allowed space for an RL72 plotter to the left or right of the wheel (can't remember which). Looked really smart but did not allow room for the original compass. My mate (at the time) comissioned the alternative dash from Fairline and was pissed off when they started promoting it! All a bit irrelevant cos I bet Fairline have ditched the mouldings.

This was the dash from my old Targa 30 which was altered at the time by Peters. The tridata and autopilot were moved to the edges of the dash and the rocker switches relocated outside of the blue mouldings on the the white grp. It worked really well too.

T30 is a great boat by the way.

I've already told him that! T34 is quantum leap for not a lot of extra £££.

Chaps, I know what you're saying about a T34, but simply cannot stretch this much. The 30 will be a little over 70 grand, whereas I can't see getting a 34 for less than 100k, unless its older. This would almost double the cost of change for me.

The 30 is a good step up from current 26' boat.

If anyone knows of a 34 for about 80, then let me know!

Thanks for your help
Adam
