If 10 kg is recommended for 40' this will be ok. But the bigger the better if it fits your stem head roller

10kg sounds right as the T37 doesnt carry much windage. If you plan to do any overnight anchoring (Med?) then I would fit as large an anchor as possible. You also need to look at your chain as well. I would suggest you should carry 40-50m minimum, maybe more in areas with a large tidal range eg Channel Isles

Re: experienced person

Thanks

Ancorage is mainly in the Humber so big tides and lots of flow.
Ill give the 10kg one a go see how it does.
The danford has been a good anchor but Ive got a bit sick of sitting on the bow and kicking the darn thing to make sure it seats on the bow roller with the blades facing up, if it comes on and the blades are down that makes a hole on my boat. and I lost a brand new deckshoe last time I did it.
Oh the joys of boating

Many thanks

10kg anchor totally inadequate. I have one on my Sealine S37 and really don't trust it. Problem with the Sealine is that it fits into the nose and I can't upgrade.
I notice that the new S38 has a larger one. Need to check if your windlass needs upgrading to take the extra weight.
