There is a piece on Fairlines website that suggests they may have switched preferance to Garmin as their oem partner for marine electronics and nav gear.

As we introduce numerous Garmin products into the standard specifications for each of our motor yachts during 2009, you may notice that many of our motor yachts on display at forthcoming shows have Garmin electronics on board. Amongst the products to be fitted include touchscreen chartplotters, high definition radar, the GHP™ 10 Autopilot with unique Shadow Drive™ and VHF radios.

Old news. That piece on the Fairline site was mid August. It would beinteresting to work out how much of a blow the loss of someone like Fairline would be to Raymarine: what would the average electronics suite cost on a boat, and how many units do Fairline shift a year? What's that as a percentage of Raymarine's turnover, do we think?

The benefit lost is a function of owner add ons. If you get some basic Raymarine installed on a boat in the factory, then when the owner adds stuff he/she tends typically to stick with Raymarine. I added £20k of Raymarine, over and above the basic £5k or so that was included ex-factory...

You're right that the Garmin switch isn't news. The news was out a while ago, and CAD renderings of new models are all be-Garmined. Garmin has been under discussion at FL for well over a year. Pretty big coup for Garmin
