Hello Gents
I am looking at a Fairline Sprint 1999 fitted with a new KAD 32, 2004,170hp, 160 hours, in good alround condition, radar, sounder/chartplotter, dingy outboard, new camper cover.
Chap is asking £15000, what would be a fair price for that age boat?
tony

Good little Boat
Specially with a KAD 32.
Value?
You say new KAD 32 2004.
imho in Today's climate.
£12000.
But heck.
It's just a Guess.
Others will be more accurate maybe.
That's where I would pitch it

That´ll be a 1989 boat, they were only made from 1988 to 1991. In "normal" times they seem to change hands for 12-15k with the petrol fitted so that looks a reasonable price with the diesel fitted as there is still a consumption premium for diesel even if nothing like the old fuel cost premium for a diesel installation.

Price/value today is better determined by the desperation of the seller IMHO...

At that priced I'd grab it with both hands. I had a 1989 model for 8 years and loved it. My old boat with a Yamaha 370 sti diesel is up for sale again at £18,000. That's what I sold her for 3 years ago. The price is based on what the seller is finally prepared to sell it for, but at £15k it's worth every penny.

They are great boats and I would have one again.

Thats a strange one, saw it but didn't want to mention about it.
VAT not payed on such an old boat? where has it been used ? on a private lake ?
or has it been imported only recently ? on that age ?
anyway, over here you need very little official documents for a boat <25 ft if its older then 1998. (no CE declaration, no VAT proove, ...)
besides that do you really need to make an invoice for 12000£ for such an old boat ?
IMHO some creative solutions seem possible,

Hi Tony I've also just bought a Sprint on the Rock (Guernsey) It's got the petrol V8.

I looked at this boat when it was in the paper about a month back although I had bought mine about a week earlier I thought I'd have nose. The guy is keen to sell because he's no longer boating due to his age. When I saw it he was sticking firmly to the 15k price having dropped from 19k. It's a great looking boat just needs the drivers seat back rest cleaned...you know what I mean /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'll PM you my mobile, give me a call if you want to have a look over ours.

Buy it buy it /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thjngs are weird at the moment when it comes to boat pricing! Come next march they will be giving them away!
