Fairline Phantom 48

Ooh, looks like another one with big picture windows and a midships master cabin a la Sunseeker Manhattan 50. I wonder what the headroom is like? And is it IPS or conventional shafts?
My guess it will be quite a few squids more than the P46 so might affect P50 sales

I seem to recall Fairline folk saying it replaces the 46. It looks a superb design to me. Has a nice dining table on flybridge a la Sq58. Also in this size range there will be a Sq 54 mebbe Southampton show 2006 also with midships owners cabin (that info is from dealers chatting, not "inside" information, in case any Fariline folk are reading this!)

I have had it confirmed that the 48 will replace the 46. So once again I will have an old model - I had a Targa 43 before.

The new Targa 43 with IPS will be lauched at the London Boat Show 2007.

Sorry to hear that but I think the P48 looks sufficiently different and has a different model name such that P46 values wont be affected much if at all plus I'm sure Fairline will push up the price of the P48 relative to the P46 anyway
Any idea whether the midships cabin is intended to be the master cabin and whether it has IPS?

Looking at the shadings on the steps in the saloon level drawing on the Fairline website, there appear to be two steps up from the saloon at the side of the helm (which presumably a further step up to the helm seats) and then steps down to the lower deck. Presumably this is to create extra height for the midships "master cabin"

Well spotted Martyn, I didnt see that. Yup looks like full headroom over the mid cabin but an awful long way down to the galley. Still a fair compromise for the extra space below
