Fairline galley doors

Hi all
Had a bit of a disaster in the galley of our Fairline squadron 52 ,the doors have got some water damage from a leaking dehumidifier, does anyone no who supplied these to Fairline, as I doubt they were made in house
they are the high gloss cream range,

Thanks in advance for any leads in finding replacements

I'd always believed that Fairline make their own cabinetry but I may be mistaken. JFM will be along soon to confirm either way I would think.

I'm pretty sure you're right Pete. Made and lacquered in house.

If that's the case, I think I'd even ask F'line for a quote (which would be v expensive IF they would even do it) or look at some top end kitchen door replacement / matching firms.

Even if FL won't do the doors it might be worth asking them what paint / colour they would have used back then.

Yup, made by FL in house

FL will not be set up for making replacements nor will they want to. But any good joinery shop these days will be able to make doors like this and spray paint them. It's pretty much necessary and normal for bespoke kitchen manufacturers and suchlike to have that facility. I hope they can match the colour using colour cards or their paint supplier might have one of those electronic spectral things. Or they could paint the adjacent doors too or something

You will I guess find that the kitchen makers work in MDF, which is hopeless in base-spec but will be ok in the moisture resistant type. Fairline might have used marine ply, veneered and painted, which would be better, but a good quality waterproof mdf like the green stuff made by Medite might be ok. Will be expensive.

Another alternative is for them to repair the original - ie glue it back if split, fill, sand, paint, etc

All risks insurance might cover it - heck it's not as if a seacock fizzed away is it. Do report back!

Thanks for the reply ,not sure if possible to repair as split top and bottom also blown, was trying not to involve insurance company, but with the doors,flooring and carpet damage, looks like it,s going to add up ,
will let you no how we get on,

They won't remake one, but you never know they might have one at the back of some dusty stores dept.
