RCC club member has sold his own boat and is casting around for something new and was told a Corsica was up for sale in Windsor
Info or comments most welcome.

Windsor Yacht Club members boats I believe and a well sorted vessel.

Thought that the boat name rang a bell and may even have met the owner(s) either at some club " do" on the Thames or perhaps they have visited down here to the Merdeway at some point.
Thanks for link all info most welcome.
Chap interested in the Corsica (or similar ? ) sold his Princess 33 a while ago and is seriously in the market for a cared for boat that reflects market conditions .
While on the subject, another boat will be leaving the Thames very shortly for the delights of the Medway . Subject to "sea trial " a couple of days ago and lock closures should be coming home in the next week or so.
Should the deal go thorough , a nice Princess 30 DS with twin 165 HP diesels on shafts will be up for sale..
Thats probably five boats that have made this particular one way trip recently !
Nothing to do with Thames costs, purely the owners of all coming to the end of their boating careers.

thanks for all the input will pass on the info. OG.
Always fancied the Brava and the Corsica, was just always one step up above my pay grade

Not sure why Duquesa has a s/S radar arch?
Also has the smaller engines. Might struggle a bit at sea?
Like the light oak woodwork.
Notice the other one there has Cummins engines, which I like, but why are they yellow? My F Turbo 36 had same engines and they were white, which I believe is the normal colour. Thought yellow denoted Caterpillars?

Good evening. This is my first post on the Forum and was interested with the Posts regarding Duquesa. I am the current owner of the boat and if there is anything you would like to know then please ask. Firstly in answer to miket, Corsicas were first introduced in 1989. They were indeed fitted with Cummins 300 Hp engines. At that time the KAMD42 didnt exist. When Fairline built Duquesa in 1993 KAMDs were the best option. For 2 reasons. They are physically smaller so fit the engine bay perfectly allowing all servicing to be done with ease. They are Supercharged and Turbocharged as as such allow the Boat to accelerate incredibly quickly and as thus get onto the plane in no time. The top speed of the 300 cummins was approx 25 Knots. The top speed of the KAMDs is 25 knots. The Radar arch: I had this made and fitted when I bought the boat. As the boat is on the Thames we experience very low bridges. The previous owner tried to hinge the glass fibre arch and made some what of a pigs ear of it. I was pleased in some ways as I much prefer the stainless one. It is light and I had it hinged in a way that will clear all low bridges with the screen being the highest point. I had the arch made to replicate the height and rake of the original one so that it would follow the rather pleasing lines of the boat. The boat has served me exceptionally well having never failed to get me anywhere. Any more questions please ask.

Net Curtains on Boat...surely Not !

Thanks for input, chum bought the slightly smaller Brava a few years ago and keeps it in Bray.
Every brokerage seems to give a different LOA for both Corsica and Brava !
Always liked these boats especially as it was probably the first of the mid sized class of cruisers to go for a really luxurious interior, compared to the somewhat spartan interior of the Princess 35 and its siblings (P388 or P415 etc ) and the positively 1960s caravan fit out in the Princess 33 and early Fairlines.
Quite few ended up in the MED with generators/A/C and passerelles.
Some were repatriated back to UK over the years.
Not sure why so few were built, suspect builders saw the profit was in bigger boats !
However both were far superior to the Green/Pink Velure Brocade and tassels with nicely clashing swirly carpets featuring twee little Art Deco lamps found on some vessels of the period.
No names no pack drill.
Hope Apollo does not read this post. :)

Update, chap who expressed interest in the Fairline has now been to look at a Princess of similar size.
Wanted something with larger engines for extended offshore cruising.
