Well today I removed the port exhaust outlet from the transom to try and resolve an annoying water leak. I was hoping would just be a simple case of removing the fibreglass cowl over the outlet then removing the exhaust outlet cleaning up the mating surfaces and rebuilding with fresh sealant job done but this was not to be the case. After cleaning the old sealant from the outlet it became apparent that it was badly corroded ad holed in a couple of places and require replacement but im unsure where I might get them from would fairline be able to reproduce these parts?

IIRC Corniche was built as both inboard/shaft and outdrive, I assume you re talking shaft drive and this is a stainless tube with a flange welded to it with the flange bolting on to the transom that leads through to the fibreglass swan neck that leads the exhaust gasses underwater?

If so any good stainless fabrication shop should be able to reproduce one to pattern.

Its probably a good time to look at your exhaust riser, water injection bend and exhaust hose, when I looked at mine at 12 years the riser and injection bend were both ripe and required replacing.

The riser also requires a repair and should be ok, I am considering leaving the fibreglass part off and just fitting exhaust flaps over the open ends anyway ive got some pics

The above are my water injection bends at 11 years old, one exhaust riser failed through corrosion so I inspected both and ended up replacing both risers, both bends and the flexible to the stainless exhaust as a precaution .

On the water injection bend look at the output end and see how much corrosion there is, its normally a cast iron elbow with a stainless insert that the water is injected behind to spray the water around the whole of the cast unit. Look at mine and see how much the water flow is impeded by the corrosion. The output end of the bend where the hose goes over also rots badly

yep they look pretty fooked indeed I've had mine off the turbo and they look ok, there is also a stainless swan neck on mine just before the exhaust meets the transom these have some corrosion round the welds but should repair ok
