Hi, anyone any experience of rusty tanks on Sedan's or Turbo's? Our boats 1989 and the tanks are getting pretty rusty.

Also - has anyone fitted bow thrusters? Was it worh it?

Well they might be rusty on the outside but should not be inside cos there full of diesel, which should stop the rust, Errr, paint them? Or are they leaking? Get the leak welded and then paint them. Am I missing some thing?

Dont think adding a bow thruster will help with problem.

Happy boating.

Tanks do rust with diesel in them!

Unless tanks are permanently kept full, then condensation on the inside of the tank will run down and form a thin pool of water underneath the fuel on the bottom of the tank. This is perfect conditions for rust, and many a tank has rusted right through because of that. This is also a very common problem with household heating oil tanks, hence the newer ones are now plastic.

Had a Turbo 36 but no probnlem with rusting tanks.

Used to despise bowthrusters on twin engined boats until I bought Broom 37 with one already fitted. Brilliant, but I only use it for final tweeks. (honest)

Only advice, is make sure it is sufficiently powerful, otherwise it is a waste of space. I'd also want to be pretty confident of the quality of the workmanship of the person fitting it, before I let someone cut a b****y big hole in my hull!!!
