I love the retro look of these little boats. I'm quite tempted to get one and do some trailering and pottering about when I'm not sailing. I know you have to be insured and get a licence. Basic versions are BSS exempt.

Anybody have experience of these? How easy is to find launch/retrieval ramps? I guess they are pretty lightweight.

If I'm bonkers please tell me:encouragement:

Only if you row it or chop the cabin off AND use a manual start self contained outboard.

Boats not required to have a BSSC or Declaration of Conformity at any time are:
 Privately-owned, open vessels that have no domestic cooking, heating, refrigerating or lighting appliances installed, are not fitted with other permanent electrical systems (e.g. navigation lights, engine start / tilt etc) and which are propelled solely by an outboard engine without a fixed fuel system.

Great little boat.I once had a boatyard on the Thames and bought them when ever one came on the market.Pretty stable,goodish headroom,and a 15 hp motor.All could want for a first time boat.
I should think that it would be pretty easy to launch/retrieve.They drive well,which is a question no one seems to ask.! Good choice for what you intend to use her for.
 
Dad bought one new. Mum and dad slept inside, I had a removable stretcher berth in the cockpit with the dog. Never trailered but a great little boat and we had some fantastic holidays on it.
