Faint alarm noise

I have bilge switches/alarms the same as the picture. One of them gives off a very faint alarm noise even though the switch is bone dry.Any ideas why?

I would check/remake any earth connections.

I had similar problem. Are you using a float switch or a sealed switch (Johnson type)? The sealed pass a constant small current by design which is just enough to trigger a faint sound from the alarm. I got used to it and it told me the alarm was working but SWMBO could'nt stand it.

Strangely enough, its the only one with a float switch that makes the noise! The others have 'bilgebuddy' (two prong type).The whole bilge pump system is brand new with all new wiring,switching and batteries.
I suppose one of the others could cause it if that particular alarm is more sensitive?
