My red sprayhood is faded and I wondered if anybody had managed to dye theirs to good effect. You can buy dye from boots and just soak it in the bath but I am worried it might leach out all over the cabin or stain the windows on the spray hood itself. Seems a waste to get another done just because it's faded but it does look really bad. Perhaps a new one is the answer!

I've used fabric spray paint before. It's supposed to be for re-colouring chairs and stuff, but it's quite good for re-colouring faded covers.

Can't remember who does it, but I'm sure you can find it on goggle.

I painted a sports car tonneau cover in order to change its colour from grey to black. That was 29 years ago and it's still fine. I used Humbrol upholstery paint but don't know if that's still available.

We did ours winter just gone, it was very faded red (almost pink) and we also use the Renovo products. We went for Soft Top Reviver as thats the only one i could find in Red.

Its made a huge difference, and it just went on easy with a brush. As for quantity we used 2ltr in total that gave the spray hood two good coats and the dodgers one coat on the outside. Could have used a bit more on them really, the spray hood just soaked it up. Sail cover next...

Its not made any marks on the boat (as expected) and i think its had a good test this year so far :)
